Producing, Mixing & Mastering the new DGG Original Source Series "Bruckner Complete 9 Symphonies" Box

With DGG's Johannes Gleim, EBS's Rainer Maillard & Sidney Meyer and of course Mark Ward and M.F.

An exclusive transatlantic video discussion including an essential new historical video covering the original DGG production of Herbert Von Karajan and the BPO's Bruckner Symphony cycle, hosted by Deutsche Gramophon's Johannes Gleim with Emil Berliner Studios' Tonmeister, mastering engineer and Managing Director Rainer Maillard, cutting engineer Sidney Meyer, Tracking Angle's contributing writer Mark Ward and editor Michael Fremer.

This box set is the first time an 8 track production has been "live mixed" and cut to lacquer using specially developed playback and mixing gear developed by Mr. Maillard and his team. The discussion takes a fascinating "deep dive" into the original production and the mixes used for this new Brucker box set that Tracking Angle's Mark Ward has reviewed with his usual attention to historical, technical and musical detail in three parts beginning here.

This is a transatlantic discussion you will not want to miss!

Did this get published prematurely? There is no helpful information (when/where) or link to the video discussion, and the link to Mark's three-part review is broken (HTTP 404).

I thoroughly enjoyed the video, I watched it twice. I waited however, until I received my copy before submitting any comments. I got mine at a very competitive price last week and tonight I started with the ninth. I barely got into two and a half minutes when I had to stop playing and request another as there was a 2.5 cm gash across the disc. While I have been fairly fortunate with one slight exception, and even that wasn’t serious enough to warrant a return. However, with this much fanfare and cost, this kind of scratch is frankly unacceptable and is enough to turn me off from purchasing any more of these because the hassle of returning is simply not worth my time. I also feel my luck running out as others in this group have complained since the beginning about the quality of past pressings. DG has to really step up their game moving forward, I have heard quite a few complaints from way too many people regarding this box set. From where I stand, at this price, it should be perfect.
